TAYPORT set up a Redwood Leisure Cup final against Glenrothes, by defeating old foes Lochee United, via a Canniepairt shoot-out, in the semi-finals on Monday.
Incredibly, it was the fourth consecutive round in which Tayport have won on penalties, with Rosyth, St Andrews United and Dundee Violet the previous victims.
In the first half of the match, neither Tayport nor Lochee really threatened, although Chris Webster did twice cut in from the right to fire in left-footed shots.
The most notable incident, however, was the straight red card brandished to Lochee striker Paul Blackwood, for his part in a flare-up on the far touchline.
With the numerical advantage, Tayport probably had the better of the second half, creating several decent opportunities.
Reon Juskowiak sliced wide, after neat play from Grant Paterson and Ronnie Kenneth, while the same player lashed a volley wide of the target, around the hour mark.
Stefan Elvin called Lochee 'keeper Ian Ross into action, with a shot from the edge of the area, then Ronnie Kenneth clipped an effort too high, after being played in by the quick-thinking Darren Scott.
Webster and Juskowiak both had further attempts in the closing stages and, at the other end, the Bluebells almost snatched a winner, through Phil Hagan.
Frazer Fitzpatrick produced the save, though, and the 'keeper would again go on to be the Tayport hero when the penalty shoot-out got underway.
Both teams had nine attempts from the spot, with the scoreline 2-2 after the obligatory five kicks each.
Darren Scott and Stuart Ferguson netted, with Roberto Morris, Reon Juskowiak and Ronnie Kenneth all being denied by Ian Ross.
For Lochee, Graham Hay and Mark Bannon were successful, while Craig Robertson and Phil Hagan saw their efforts saved by Fitzpatrick. In addition, Greg Kirk knocked his kick wide.
In sudden-death, Stefan Elvin, Chris Webster, Brian Livie and Joe Pepper all kept their composure before Fitzpatrick won the tie by saving from Lochee substitute, John Bruce.
Tayport: Fitzpatrick, Pepper, Paterson, Morris, Livie, Elvin, Webster, McNaughton (Scott), Kenneth, Juskowiak, Ferguson.
Lochee: Ross, Bannon, Kirk, Hay, Watson, Abbot, Hagan, Cargill, Jones (Bruce), Blackwood, Robertson.
The final of the Redwood Leisure Cup against the Glens will take place on Saturday, June 13.
The Canniepairt hosts the final of the prestigious East of Scotland Cup tomorrow (Saturday).
Glenrothes will be involved in that final as well, with Lochee United, returning to the scene of Monday's shoot-out defeat, the opposition
