THERE is set to be something of a reunion for a whole host of the Tayport contingent, when they take on former club, Lochee Harp, in the Currie Cup on Saturday.

Attackers Brian Craik, Darren Scott and Kevin Kelly were all in the Harp team which faced 'Port in last year's Challenge Cup final, when the former Beechwood Park management duo of Frank Conway and Ian Gilzean lifted their first piece of silverware for Tayport.

In addition, Barry McNaughton is another player who you used to ply his trade at Beechwood, so the ground certainly represents familiar territory.

It is a match 'Port will be expected to win, as their opponents operate a couple of tiers down the East Region set-up, in the North Division, although they have narrowly missed out on promotion this season, having lost just one league fixture at home.

Frank Conway will be hoping to have a strong squad from which to select, but much will depend on how Wednesday's match against Lochee United went, in terms of injuries.

Brian Livie, Barry McNaughton, Kevin Kelly and Ross Gunnion were all absent from Central Park at the weekend, for various reasons, but may now be back in contention.

The return from injury of skipper Roberto Morris was one plus point from that Whitburn game, while Chris Webster is also returning to fitness in time to play a role in the search for silverware.

Tayport are scheduled to play at Glenesk on Tuesday, May 13, in the Challenge Cup, with Dundee Violet the opposition.
