IN a tightly-fought rugby contest, the Buckhaven Sharks U16s beat Lasswade High School U16s by 21 points to 19 in the National Bowl quarter-final.
Buckhaven High opened the scoring with a well-struck penalty by Scott Warrender, before Lasswade took the lead with a try.
Winger Willie Murray scored Buckhaven’s first try before the same man went on to add another, with Warrender converting and then adding a penalty.
In the second half, Lasswade started the stronger of the two sides, scoring twice and converting.
Buckhaven held on, though, and now go on to play a semi-final against the winners of the match between Mclaren HS and Elgin Schools.
