The sixth and last race of the current nightmare season, The Escape from Arkham Asylum, took place in the woods to the north of Glenrothes on Friday Night.

Chris Russell, Andy Cargill, Sarah Ives, Tam Cullen, Bryan McLaren, Becky Oakenfull, Collette Ives, Dan Haran, Terry Cullen and John Kay of Leven Las Vegas joined the field of 65 runners as they plunged into the darkness of the three mile course, as always never sure where the flour markings on the ground would lead them.

Event organiser Chris Russell led the pack home despite being hampered by a very distinctive nightmarish painted face and clothing to win the series overall.

Jennifer Massie from Dundee Road Runners took the Ladies’ Nightmare Series Trophy with LLV’s Collette Ives taking third place.

At the parkruns Bryan McLaren, Dan Haran and Becky Oakenfull all set personal bests, the second pb in a row for Becky and the third in month for Bryan who managed to take over a minute off his previous best the week before to finish with his first ever 5k time of under 19 minutes.

Tricia Wallace travelled up to Aberdeen to take part in her first Ultra Marathon this year at the ‘D33’, an out and back route along the path of a disused railway line. Tricia finished the 33 mile run in just over six hours.
