Fife Flyers will renew rivalries with a familiar face when they take on Danish outfit Aalborg Pirates in a pre-season double header.
The teams meet for exhibition games at Fife Ice Arena on August 30 and 31.
Pirates are coached by Paul Thomson, the man behind the hugely successful Coventry Blaze outfit who went head to head with Flyers in many great BNL competitions.
The teams will meet in The Bay Hotel Challenge Cup.
Saturday faces-off at 7.15 p.m. with Sunday getting underway at 6.00 p.m. and it is followed by a social gathering at The Bay in Kinghorn.
Flyers have a great tradition of playing foreign teams across the decades.
Their archives show famous matches against Team Canada - which they won - and the Polish national side in the 1960s as well as visits from many European and North American club teams.
Thomson, a long standing fan of rink’s legendary atmosphere, said: “Everyone within the Aalborg Pirates organisation is excited and looking forward to the two challenge games.
‘‘They will be great preparation for both teams before the season officially starts. This will be the first time that many of my players have visited Scotland - I’m sure they will enjoy the experience and the stovies in Kirkcaldy!”
