Fife Flyers open the new ice hockey season with a double header against Coventry Blaze - one of three head to head match-ups in a row.
The 2014-15 fixtures published today revealed a number of back to back games in the EIHL and Challenge Cup.
The season gets underway on September 6 when Coventry Blaze visit Fife Ice Arena, with the teams playing again the next night south of the border.
It’s the same the following weekend when Sheffield Steelers are the opposition.
They are at Fife Ice Arena on Saturday, September 13 before hosting the return game on the 14th.
Week three sees Flyers and Dundee Stars renew their often explosive rivalry with a potentially tasty double header across the weekend of 20-21 - the first Challenge Cup fixtures of the season.
Flyers also face Edinburgh Capitals back to back early in October, and Hull in November.
It’s unusual to see so many double header weekends against the same opposition - and with the arrival of several new enforcers around the league it will be interesting to see how these games go.
The season will again feature a mix of EIHL and Challenge Cup action with a few games counting towards both tournaments.
Teams will face other sides in their own conference four times at home and four times away, while meeting sides in the other conference twice at home and twice away to make up a 52-game season.
The Challenge Cup will remain as two groups of five, followed by two-legged quarter-finals and semi-finals.
The final will be in Sheffield on Sunday March 8, 2015.
But the big weekend is the play-off finals - they’re booked for April 4-5 in Nottingham.
