Fife Flyers head coach Todd Dutiaume has spoken of his frustration after a missed opportunity to go joint top of the Gardiner Conference.
After an impressive 6-2 home win over Elite League and Gardiner Conference leaders Braehead Clan on Saturday, Flyers fell to a 4-3 defeat in Edinburghs on Sunday, meaning they stayed two points behind Braehead in the conference, and five behind in the EIHL.
“As a group we are extremely frustrated that we didn’t get at least a point in Edinburgh,” Dutiaume said. “We psyched ourselves up for Braehead all week - we didn’t look past it - and it was our best team performance, other than the win in Belfast, we’ve had all season.
“There was a bit of come down afterwards - the adrenalin was drained.
“We’d also cut down for that game and overused guys which was a coaching decision used to win the game. It worked, however the guys were tired on Sunday and near the end we were exhausted.”
Flyers welcome Nottingham Panthers to Fife Ice Arena this Saturday.
The injured Jordan Fulton will be monitored this week before a decision is made on whether he plays.
