Bluebell cruise to win over Kinnoull and Hibs win too

It was top against bottom in the East Premier League as Dundonald welcomed Kinnoull.

Elder opened the scoring for Bluebell when he took advantage of some sloppy defending before goal number two came when Duffy scored from the spot.

Left back Hendry got Dundonald’s third when he and Young played a nice one two which allowed him to score.

The home side took control after this early scare and after some good play Wallace set up Carr to score a fourth.

Young and Morrison combined to set up Grieves for the fifth and, when a Lally shot came back of the post, Elder was there to put the ball into the net for goal number six.

Kinnoull pulled two goals back late on the make the scoreline a bit more respectable.

This weekend Bluebell face Arniston in the Fife and Lothians Cup.

Thornton Hibs maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 5-2 win over Lochore Welfare.

Garry Thomson dived to head home Mathew Gay’s cross to put the visitors ahead and Gay doubled this lead with another header.

Scott Renton’s chip reduced the deficit minute but Chris Ireland’s header from Gay’s perfect cross put the Hibs two ahead again.

Yet another header – this time Thomson benefited from Leslie’s corner-kick – put Thornton 4-1 up before Greig Renton pulled another back.

Garry Thomson volleyed home a fifth.

This weekend Thornton welcome Ashfield in the Scottish Cup while Kirkcaldy YM face Aberdeen Uni.
