EAST Fife Ladies returned to the top of the league on goal difference with a fine 4-2 win over a very good Jeanfield side.
The Fifers went ahead after 10 minutes when great play found Wylie free down the right. She whipped in a superb cross that was met by the head of Skivington.
East Fife added their second when a ball over the top freed Wylie, who lobbed the ‘keeper from the edge of the box.
Jeanfield almost pulled one back before half-time when the referee penalised a last-ditch tackle by Graham and awarded a penalty.
However, ‘keeper Hamilton pulled off an outstanding save from the resulting kick.
The second half started with the Fifers on the front foot and Wylie got her second goal of the match when her cross made its way over the ‘keeper and straight into the net.
Jeanfield eventually got a goal back but East Fife replied almost immediately as Wylie notched her hat-trick, smashing the ball beyond the ‘keeper into the bottom left corner.
Jeanfield replied with their second of the match but East Fife held out to go top of the table.
Afterwards, East Fife player-manager Anderson said: “It was a big game for us; our big players played really well.”
