EAST Fife ensured their passage to the final of the Fife Cup as they turned over Burntisland Shipyard at Bayview.

The Fifers fielder a strong side for the encounter with the visitors simply unable to cope with the gulf in class from the first whistle.

Billy Brown had only a few hours before been appointed as manager and the Fifers seemed to have an extra spring in their step.

The manager watched on as his new side put their visitors to the sword.

An early opener was cancelled out by the visitors before East Fife went on a goal spree.

Robert Sloan netted, Scott McBride and Paul Willis bagged hat-tricks and David Muir also helped himself to a goal.

East Fife’s team on the day was Brown, Durie, Johnstone, Muir (Pollock), McAllister, Campbell, Willis, Smith (Wilson), McBride, Barr (Jamieson), Sloan. Unused subs were Shaw and Collier.
