EAST Fife twice came from behind only to lose yet another slack winner.

The manager made changes to the starting line-up with Michael Brown, Craig Johnstone, Darren McCormack and Paul McManus out and in came Calum Antell, Robert Sloan, Dale Keenan and Bob Malcolm.

Forfar were the first to make inroads as they pressurised the Fife defence from the kick-off.

The recalled Antell dealt confidently with a Hilton effort and soon after grabbed a Campbell cross.

Eventually Forfar did take the lead, against a side whose last clean sheet was at the beginning of January.

A Campbell free kick was blocked and similarly Fotheringham’s attempt from the rebound was also blocked.

However, at the third attempt, Malin hit what proved to be the opener from around 25 yards, into the top corner.

Antell did well to keep the score from being increased when he blocked a Tulloch effort on the line.

In a rare East Fife foray into the danger area Bobby Barr went close following a decent attacking move involving Sloan and Collin Samuel.

Soon after another home attack sliced through the Fife defence and again Antell saves the visitors when he saved from Swankie.

In injury time at the end of the half East Fife got level - against the run of play. The recalled Sloan curled home an excellent free kick from around 20 yards.

The home side only had to wait five minutes into the second half, however, to retake the lead. It was Malin who scored, when he got on to Denholm’s cut back, before any defenfer could clear, to make it 2-1.

Antell was in action again as the home side looked to put a bit of distance between the sides and made a couple of decent stops from efforts from Swankie and former Fifer Templeman.

Liam Gormley replaced Sloan with 20 minutes to go but, despite his efforts, he could not make anything happen as the home side held the upper hand.

It looked as if the Fifers might pinch a point when Scott McBride headed home his 10th goal of the season following a Malcolm free kick.

However the inevitable happened two minutes later when Swankie got on to a Campbell pass and slipped the ball home.
