STRIKER Paul McManus has returned to East Fife for his third spell at the club.

McManus was released by Brechin at the end of last season, with boss Gordon Durie wasting no time in snapping up the prolific marksman.

Confirming the move, East Fife FC said on its official website: “Paul McManus returned to his favourite club and put pen to paper for East Fife.

“Pretty sure that most of us have great memories of Paul, his great running, his ability to hold up the ball and, of course, his great goals.”

McManus joined the club as a youngster, before eventually leaving and plying his trade at other clubs, including rivals Raith Rovers.

He was brought back to East Fife to spearhead a Division Three title challenge a few seasons back, and helped the club achieve that aim.

Following another spell in Division Two, McManus left Bayview again, this time heading to Malta to play for Hibernians.

He returned to Scotland and signed for Brechin City until his release.
