East Fife’s players were expecting to be told what their future holds as the Mail went to press this week.

Following their relegation to League Two on Sunday, the Methil players were due to meet with manager Gary Naysmith yesterday (Tuesday) to learn if they were being kept on for next season’s promotion push.

However, following their drop down a league on Sunday, the Methil manager himself also admitted that his future could be up for discussion too.

Any change at that level, though, would appear to be unlikely with Naysmith handed an 18 month contract when he took the reigns from Willie Aitchison at the turn of the year.

East Fife’s relegation was confirmed on Sunday after their 2-0 defeat to Stirling Albion at Bayview mean the Binos were promoted 3-2 on aggregate.
