EAST Fife Supporters Trust members have donated a cheque for £1500 to the Anstruther lifeboat fund.

The presentation was made at the start of the Gilvenbank Hotel Football Festival, during the half-time break at the East Fife v Raith Rovers match.

After handing over the cheque, Trust director Eugene Clarke said: “We’re always pleased to help local good causes and, of course, the RNLI at Anstruther is one that’s especially close to our hearts, as this area has a longstanding seagoing tradition.”

RNLI area organiser Rachel Stewart, pictured with Mr Clarke, said: “We’re very grateful to the fans of East Fife FC for their generous donation and we wish the Trust and the club every success during the coming season.

“RNLI is a purely voluntarily funded organisation and we are completely dependent on the goodwill of people like the supporters.”

East Fife’s Supporters Trust members will be choosing their good cause for the coming season at when it holds its AGM in September.
