A SPECTACULAR five days of sporting fun was enjoyed by local youngsters aged 4-14, as East Fife Ladies FC staged its annual summer football school.

A host of other games and sports also took place during the week, at Leven’s King George V Park, while the youngsters managed to take in some Olympic action too.

The week had been intended for girls only but a few lads were allowed to joined in, after they saw how much fun the girls were having.

The youngsters were drawn mostly from schools around Levenmouth and the occasion enjoyed numerous sporting spin-offs.

East Fife Ladies FC recruited three new girls to play in its lower age groups, while senior sports helpers from the local high schools, and youth players from the club, also had a very useful experience in terms of coaching the youngsters.

In addition, healthy cooking, including pizzas, baking and cake and candy, also helped boost the football club funds.

The group made a trip to Hampden to watch the France v USA ladies’ football game – and a flag they had made specially for the occasion was glimpsed on television.

As well as football, other activities included tennis, hockey, volleyball, rounders, and more.
