Methilhill Strollers.........................1

THE Strollers travelled to Dunfermline to take on Rosebank in the league.

The local side got off to a flier and, with five minutes of the game gone, Wayne Turner was tripped in the box and Methilhill were awarded a penalty.

Ross Wilson stepped up and coolly scored to put his side into the lead.

Throughout a first half of relentless end-to-end action, both teams came close but, after 40 minutes, Rosebank equalised on the counter attack to make the score 1-1 at the break.

At the start of the second half, both teams again went close to increasing the scoring, but it was Rosebank who took the lead after a mistake in the Strollers defence let their striker run clear and shoot home to make it 2-1.

With 30 minutes to go, Paul Jenson had several chances, hitting the target on every occasion, but the Rosebank ‘keeper was in fine form and kept the Strollers at bay.

The Methilhill side had one last chance to grab an equaliser, Jenson the provider for Phil Russell who came close.

However, despite their pressure, Methilhill were unable to get the goal they deserved and left west Fife with nothing.
