WITH East Fife still awaiting confirmation of their promotion to the First Division, they faced Airdrie in a friendly.

East Fife pressed and almost took the lead when good play down the left, and a great cut back from Teri Skivington, found Anderson wide of the box, but her right-footed drive hit the base of the post and rolled along the goal line.

Airdrie took the lead with one of their chances after good play down the left exposed a lack of pace and their striker shot calmly beyond Hamilton.

This goal seemed to rally the Fife side, who from kick-off, created another chance with Skivington beating the defender and the goalkeeper to the ball.

Her shot was goal bound, but a recovering defender cleared the ball from the line as Skivington was taken out by goalkeeper and defender.

Airdrie went two up after their strong striker muscled Kemp off the ball and shot low beyond Hamilton.

East Fife did get the goal their play deserved after a good ball from midfield set Skivington on her way and she bravely slid in on the edge of the box to beat the ‘keeper.

East Fife will take on Claremont at King George on Sunday in a 2pm kick-off.
