Broxburn Athletic 3, Glenrothes Juniors 0
Glenrothes crashed out of the Fife & Lothians Cup at the first stage as their rather depleted team proved no match for the Superleague outfit.
In the second minute Lock broke clear and his excellent cross was cleared for a corner and from the resultant kick Donaldson struck the crossbar.
On 10 minutes a through ball from Scarborough was saved by Flockhart.
An effort from Donaldson brought a fine save from Gay before Scarborough broke clear and finished well only to be pulled up for a 50-50 offside decision.
Two minutes later Scarborough again had the ball in the net but again pulled up for offside.
On 34 minutes the home side took the lead when Locke headed home following a free kick.
Two minutes later Gay made another fine save from Manson.
Straight from the restart an excellent chance fell to Roycroft but once again Gay came to the rescue.
Before Glens had time to settle, the home side increased their lead when Donaldson broke clear only for his effort to be saved by Gay but unfortunately the ball broke to the same player to shoot home.
At the other end, following a corner, a header from Griffin brought a fine save from Flockhart to turn the ball round the post.
On 65 minutes the home side put the game beyond Glenrothes when Keast latched on to a long ball and chipped over Gay.
Broxburn were now pressing hard and causing the Glens defence one or two problems.
Glens were having their best spell of the game and an effort from Scarborough went over the bar.
In the final minute another effort from Scarborough flew over the top of the bar.
Overall a poor display from the Glens who were outplayed for most of the game by the Superleague men.
Glens get back to league business on Saturday when they entertain Bathgate Thistle at Warout.
