Glenrothes Juniors 3, Broughty Athletic 3

The game got off to a lively start when an early shot from the visitors flew past the post.

A shot from Sibanda was then plucked out of the air by Gay.

On 10 minutes Gay was again called into action, making a fine save with his legs from Sibanda and again a minute later when he dived at the feet of O’Leary to rescue the ball.

Broughty took the lead in the 12th minute when Gay made a fine save from O’Leary only for the ball to break to Russell who shot home.

Glens replaced Pearson with Moffat and a minute later a chance fell to Kinnes but his effort was wide of target.

Chris Gay was doing his best to keep the Glens in the game with two fine saves in a minute.

Broughty came close again when Sibanda headed just over the crossbar.

Broughty got their reward for pressure when Sibanda got their second meeting a cross from the right to prod home.

Glenrothes lost a third goal in the 35th minute when a cross found Gibson all on his own to shoot home.

Frustration was starting to creep in with a spate of bookings with Wallace, Scarborough and Kinnes finding their way into the referee’s book along with Cameron from Broughty.

Glenrothes started their fight back on the stroke of halftime when Moffat struck the ball home from a corner.

With a mountain still to climb Glenrothes got the second half underway with a cross from J Gay was just too strong for Martin.

At the other end Moffat had a goal line clearance which prevented the Glens from going further behind.

In the 50th minute a fine through ball from Wyllie found Scarborough who shot home from 15 yards.

As the Glens were trying for the equaliser Bissett came closest but had strayed offside.

Then, in the 90th minute, a Bissett free kick was deflected into his own net by McCunnie.

Things were to take a final turn as Wallace was given a second yellow for kicking the ball away but the Glens held on for the point.

Glenrothes are on the road next week with a trip to Forfar North End with a 2.30p.m. kick off.
