Thornton Hibs 1 Lochgelly Albert 4

Because their respective league games were postponed, Thornton played Lochgelly in a friendly at the terrific Lumphinnans Sports Hub.

And it has to be said that the men in green suffered a defensive nightmare as Lochgelly put four past them.

Steven Page put The Albert ahead in the 12th minute but he turned from saint to sinner six minutes later as he brought Ian Hepburn down in the box allowing Chris Ireland to equalise from the spot.

By the 29th minute Lewis Elder had Craig Ness’ team back in front and further goals from Martin Rennie (58) and Andy Watt (72) gave Lochgelly a comfortable victory.
