Glens got back to league business after their Scottish Cup win last week up in Elgin with a seven-goal thrashing of Kinnoull.

Two changes from last week saw Griffin and Falconer coming in for Steele and Scarborough.

Glen started the match brightly with plenty of possession creating a couple of half chances.

The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when a great ball in from the right by Jackson was nodded on by Griffin where Daryl Falconer was lurking and made no mistake with a great finish to start where he left off last week.

Glens were controlling the game and restricted Kinnoull to the odd set piece which Small dealt with easily.

Falconer increased the Glens lead on the 25 minute mark, latching onto Jackson’s long through ball which split the defence to glide past the ‘keeper for his second of the match.

The cecond half got underway in much the same fashion as the first when a couple of minutes in Falconer turned provider with a low cross for John Martin who made no mistake.

Glenrothes were turning their domination into goals and the fourth arrived in the 54th minute when Martin headed home a Forbes corner delivered with precision.

Glens had to wait almost 20 minutes for their next goal but it was worth the wait as another excellently delivered corner from Forbes was headed back across goal by Moffat for Falconer to nod home for his second successive hat-trick.

The sixth goal was a peach as Martin selflessly laid the ball off to Griffin who was waiting on the right to tap home.

Kinnoull to their credit never gave up and forced Small into a double save when the number 14 capitalised on a defensive error.

Glenrothes got their seventh goal right at the death when Falconer again provided his strike partner with a chance, which the ‘keeper got a hand to but could not keep out as Martin nodded home for his hat-trick.

A comprehensive North Division victory for the league leaders with a double hat-trick for the strikers but credit has to be given for the quality provision from midfield and defence.

Glens are away to Coupar Angus on Saturday with a 2.00 p.m kick off.
