Saints return to Barnetts Park for the first time for five weeks tomorrow for their McBookie.com Super League encounter against fellow strugglers Broxburn Athletic.

United boss Phil McGuire is not without problems going in to the game and is definitely without loan signings Stanley Chitemere and Daryl Robertson as he explained at Wednesday night’s training session.

He said: “Stanley has been released by Stenhousemuir which cancels his loan agreement with ourselves while Daryl has been recalled by Forfar Athletic as they have a number of injuries ahead of their Scottish Cup tie with Queens Park.

“On top of these, we have Barry Sibanda, Paddy Deane and Lewis Elder struggling with various illnesses that will almost certainly rule them out of a starting position on Saturday. “

Broxburn have been on a poor run and have recorded one draw in the last six, away from home at Bonnyrigg at the beginning of the month.

Since then they have seen defeats at home to Musselburgh and away from home at Newtongrange.

Ordinarily, Saints would be looking at taking all three points from the game but, with those missing, it makes the task so much harder.

“We would have been looking to take the game to Broxburn if we had a fulls quad available,” said the Saints boss.

“However, I may have to wait and see who reports fit on Friday night before knowing my starting 11 for the game.”

Kick off is at 1.45pm.
