Pittenweem played their first home Premier League game of the season against a newly promoted team from Burntisland.

Rovers took the lead on 30 minutes when a throw-in into the box was met by Liam McGhee whose effort was parried out by the ‘keeper, only for Alex Bowman to net the rebound.

Pittenweem doubled their lead when Marc Cameron collected the ball inside the box and fired high into the net from around 16 yards.

The second half began with Rovers looking to score again, and after 10 minutes, Neale Smith had a shot which sailed over the bar. Craig Cameron then beat his man in the box and had a shot for goal, which was well saved.

As the half went on, the game saw Rovers play some good football through the midfield.

The visitors always looked dangerous from free kicks and corners, and it was from a free kick that they scored after 25 minutes.

Burntisland now looked to go for the equaliser, but Rovers produced the perfect response just three minutes later when John Calcutt’s great corner from the right was headed home by McGhee.

With just two more minutes played, Craig Cameron collected the ball on the right and crossed to the back post for Smith to shoot high into the net for Pittenweem’s fourth goal.

A great through ball from John Calcutt was collected by Craig Cameron and he fired an excellent shot into the bottom corner of the net from outside the box to make it 5-1.

Three minutes later Pittenweem were awarded another corner, again taken by Calcutt. This time, it was met just outside the six-yard box by David Young, who headed it home.

In the final minute, Burntisland got a second goal when a cross into the box was forced into the net.
