Laurie Ellis admits that he is still unsure whether he has played his last game for Raith Rovers.
The veteran defender, who turns 36 this year, only made seven appearances last season under Grant Murray but has not yet drawn a line under his playing career.
Ellis is under contract as both a first team player and coach until the end of next season but his future remains uncertain while the club seeks to appoint a new manager.
“I’m not sure,” Ellis replied when asked whether he will be continuing his playing career at Stark’s Park.
“I still love training every day with the boys.
“It’s a difficult time mentally when you get to my age.
“I know I can still play at some level for another couple of years.
“Whether it’s at this level or not is maybe up to the new manager to decide.
“I’ve got to look at where my energy can be best used.
“I’ve got to look at being sensible and see what’s decide from there.
“I couldn’t bring myself to officially say either way - I’ve got a bit of thinking to do.”
