RAITH boss Grant Murray is hoping to have his squad in place for the start of preseason training on June 22.

Murray is currently speaking to a number of targets with a defender, left midfielder and striker believed to be his priorities.

He is also considering using the loan market to strengthen his squad once the season is underway.

“We’re hoping to have a full squad ready to go for the start of preseason,” he said.

“That’s the aim, whether it happens, time will tell.

“I’m happy with what we’ve brought in so far and what we’ve retained, but there’s other spaces we want filled.

“I’m getting phone calls every day. Some players fit the bill, but don’t fit the budget.

“Other players might fit the budget but don’t fit the bill.

“We’ll keep working away until we get the right guys.”

Goalkeeper David McGurn became the latest player to put pen to paper after signing a new one-year contract on Wednesday night.
