Raith Rovers have distanced themselves from the violent clashes that took place on the streets of Falkirk prior to Saturday’s game.

Ten arrests were made following an alleged pre-arranged fight between two gangs - calling themselves the ‘Falkirk Fear’ and ‘Raith Under Fives’ - ahead of the league game at Westfield, which the Bairns went on to win 3-1.

The incident made national headlines prompting Raith Rovers board of directors to issue a statement this week stressing that the ‘Raith Under Fives’ group has no connection whatsoever to the football club.

The statement read: “As the matter remains sub judice, it would be inappropriate for us to comment publicly on the circumstances of this incident.

“However, our detailed enquiries have led us to conclude that there is no connection between this group and Raith Rovers.

“We shall be raising our concerns with the football authorities about potential reputational damage to this club resulting from this incident.”
