Raith Rovers face Hibernian at Stark’s Park on Saturday in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
So it seemed an appropriate time to share this fantastic old news reel we came across recently.
It shows footage of the two clubs meeting in the same competition on the same ground back in 1952, with some great commentary from the very pronounced news reader.
There are, of course, some obvious differences, not least the state of the pitch which was cleared of snow beforehand and looks as hard as concrete! It’s certainly highly unlikely that the game would have gone ahead on that surface these days!
And just look at the size of that crowd - it must be more than 20 deep on the terraces behind the goals!
Fans going to Stark’s Park this weekend will be hoping for a more positive result than the 0-0 draw some 64 years ago.
