It may sound like a broken record to Saints fans but United go in to this weekend’s clash with Bathgate Thistle needing just two points to secure promotion.
Saints are stuttering over the line and on Saturday were just minutes away from securing their return to the Super League only to be denied by an Oakley equaliser three minutes from time.
So Saints boss Phil McGuire is taking nothing for granted ahead of the visit to Creamery Park.
He said: “We will treat the visit to Bathgate on Saturday in the same way we always approach games, respect our opponents, look to work hard both with and without the ball and look to play our game.
“If we can do these things I believe we can achieve a positive result and help us to another three points.
“Bathgate won’t be easy opponents so we must guard against complacency and we must not encourage our opponents with poor play from ourselves.”
McGuire will be able to pick from the strongest squad he has had available for a few weeks with Patrick, Buchan and Kadela all set to return.
Unfortunately it looks like Darren Kelly’s groin injury will keep him out until the end of the season.
Saints opponents Bathgate Thistle find themselves deep in trouble at the basement of the table and with games running out are one of the favourites for relegation.
Their cause wasn’t helped by defeat at home last weekend to rivals for the drop Dundee North End at home.
