Tayport were unbeaten at home all season, their last defeat was also at the hands of Kennoway Star Hearts back on the November 5 last year.

Kennoway were looking to bounce back to winning ways after a loss and a draw had setback their own fine form of five consecutive wins.

Kennoway grabbed an early lead when Wilson pounced on a mishit shot and coolly slotted past Sorley.

The lead was short one as Tayport grabbed an equaliser when Sutherland powered home a header from a Mackie corner kick.

The second half saw more of the same, two teams evenly matched going toe to toe as they tried to win their individual battles all over the pitch. Kennoway went two one up twenty minutes into the half when a corner kick was forced home much to the delight of the returning Doig.

The defender vacated his defensive duties as he managed to get on the ball inside the penalty area and score from close range.

Five minutes after this goal KSH had a two goal cushion when another corner kick caused confusion in the home defence,Sorley clawed the ball away only to the feet of Rolland who smashed a ferocious shot into the top corner from twelve yards.

With eight minutes remaining a goal of simplicity as Wilson squared for M.Gay to roll the ball home.

The points looked secured but Tayport had other ideas as Sutherland pulled a goal back straight away with an angled drive.

Wary of losing a three goal lead the previous week the away support were hoping the unthinkable could not happen again.

Sutherland was the man on hand again as he blasted home after Sutherland had parried Tulleth’s free kick into the striker’s path.
