On a terrific playing surface Thornton Hibs handed out a six-goal thrashing against Blairgowrie and now have equal points with North Division league leaders Kirriemuir Thistle.
Daniel McNab out the Hibs in front in the fourth minute and that set the trend for the day as Craig Gilbert’s men played arguably their best stuff of the season.
Blairgowrie’s day of woe could probably be summed up by the way Thornton doubled their lead in the 20th minute.
The home side took a corner kick but less than ten seconds later Shaun Keatings had the ball in the net after the Hibs had broken at pace.
Three minutes later Nicky McGowan headed the third and by the 39th minute it was all over bar the shouting as Chris Ireland made it four.
Two minutes into the second-half, Garry Thomson snr headed the fifth and with fifteen minutes remaining, Keatings brilliant effort from wide on the right ended up in the net despite the best efforts of Bair ‘keeper, Gordon O’Brien.
The SM Electrical Services Hibs Man of the Match award, in an unusual fashion, went to the whole team.

Thornton Hibs are currently sitting second in the East Region North Division, behind Kirriemuir Thistle on goal difference.
There is only a seven goal gap that separates the teams at the top, but Kirriemuir do have a vital game in hand.
Thornton’s next gam eis against Coupar Angus this weekend.
