Glenrothes Juniors only need three points from their last two games to clinch promotion back to the East Premier League.

Saturday’s 5-1 win away to Coupar Angus means that a victory against bottom of the table Forfar Albion at Warout Stadium tonight (Wednesday) will secure second place in the North Division, and seal an immediate return to the league above after last season’s relegation.

Any slip-up tonight, however, will set up a nerve-shredding promotion decider in the final league game at Warout on Saturday against Blairgowrie, who would overtake the Fifers with a victory.

Glens are hoping for a big turn out tonight as they for the win that will avoid any last day drama. Entry is £4 for adults, £2 for OAPs and under 16s go free.

Benny Andrew’s men travelled North to play Coupar Angus on Saturday on a perfect day for football looking to keep the pressure on Blairgowrie for the last promotion place.

Glens took the lead in the sixth minute when a Kinnes cross from the right was headed home by Scarborough.

Glens continued to pound the Coupar goal but had to wait until the half hour mark to score again when Scarborough finished at the second attempt.

On 40 minutes Scarborough got his hat-trick with an excellent header from the centre of the box. Glens increased their lead to four when Anderson scored from close range just before the break.

Glens scored number five on 57 minutes when Scarborough’s shot hit the bar and Smith was on the rebound to slot it away.

Coupar got a consolation goal in the 67th minute when Aitken scored a fine goal into the far corner giving Small no chance.

Glens could not increase their lead with the last chance falling to the trialist but after a fine run his shot went over the bar
