Kirkcaldy YM’s unbeaten run of five consecutive games came to an end with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Broughty Athletic at Whitton Park.

YM took the lead after only three minutes when Shaun Greig scored.

The home side drew level through Harry Neave.

Broughty mastered playing against the wind and up the Whitton slope well and they secured the points through a free kick from Dougie Cameron and a goal with seven minutes to play by substitute Graham Allan.

On Saturday YM welcome Fauldhouse Athletic.

Thornton Hibs went down 2-1 at Blairgowrie.

Blairgowrie’s first came in the fourth minute as Ryan Menzies met Gary Axworthy’s cross perfectly to volley beyond Mark Rowbotham

Gary Thomson, in his 100th appearance for the club, found the net as he slid the ball home after Matthew Gay had set him up.

In the 81st minute a breakaway saw Steven Findlay cross to Axworthy who coolly converted.

Blairgowrie could afford the luxury of a missed penalty as they sealed the win.

This weekend Thornton welcome Forfar West End.

Dundonald travelled to Haddington looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat but went down 3-1.

The strong wind made it difficult for both sides to play the sort of football they wanted to with Haddinton adapting to the conditions slightly better.

Ross Graham was sent off for Dundonald who had Morrison sent off.

This weekend Bluebell will again try to get back on track when they welcome Hurlford United.
