Glenrothes Juniors 1, Kinnoull 1
Glenrothes once again started the match with a much depleted squad.
The game got off to a scrappy start and in the seventh minute a great through ball from Martin found Scarborough who had strayed marginally offside.
Glenrothes were having plenty of the early ball and put pressure on the visitors as Anderson broke clear but finished poorly.
The home side were by far the dominant team but poor finishing kept the game level.
Moffat got himself down the left side but his cross was plucked out of the air by Christie.
The game was becoming scrappier by the minute, on a rare breakaway Gill sprinted clear and only a last ditch tackle by Pearson saved the day. Glens were playing some good football but it was breaking down on the eighteen yard line.
A minute into the second half Glenrothes took the lead when a Jackson cross was met by John Martin rising through a cluster of Kinnoull defenders to head the ball into the right hand corner.
As Glenrothes pushed for a second Scarborough had the ball in the net only for the referee to inexplicably blow for offside.
Kinnoull had a rare effort from Bloomer but it went well wide of the target.
Scarborough yet again had his effort saved by Christie before an excellent ball from Greirson found McKie but he was quickly closed down by the Kinnoull defence.
Griffin was next up with a 25 yard effort which went just wide of the target.
Kinnoull were to come back into the match against the run of play when a free kick on the left completely deceived Gay and finished in the back of the net.
Glenrothes pushed to get themselves back in front but could not get the winner, Scarborough came nearest four minutes from time when his shot went just wide of the post.
Glens face Oakley at home next Saturday with a 2.00 pm kick off.
