Glenrothes Cricket Club is one of four Fife community groups to be shortlisted for their chance to win a slice of cash.
The club, which is run by 15 volunteers, now needs members of the public to show their support and vote for it to be in with a chance of securing money from the Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving campaign.
The campaign will see 161 organisations receive £500 from a pot of £80,500.
The funding will help the club purchase much needed equipment to help increase the number of members they can take on.
Kenny Crichton, operations officer at Glenrothes Cricket Club, said: “The funding received from Grassroots Giving would be a great help allowing us to continue to help local kids participate in the sport of cricket.”
Other Fife groups in the running are Assisted Cycling Events, Kinghorn Lunch Club and Kinghorn Harbour Residents and Environmental Group.
