Fife golfers get into the swing at festival

THE Scottish Disability Golf Partnership has held a three day festival, where over 100 disabled golfers took part in swing clinics, general golf training and Scottish Order of Merit competitions.

Players from as far-afield as Norway, England and from across Scotland and its Islands, played golf at St Michaels, Cluny and the Dukes Golf Courses.

Results from the SDGP competitions included a three-day combined stableford disabled win for Bob Drysdale of Fife, Derek Milne of Fife in second and Kenny Morrison from the Isle of Scalpy third.

Three-day combined stableford coaches scores saw a first for John Murray of Fife, second for Jim MacLeod of Edinburgh and third for Brendan De Felice of Glasgow.

The Dukes final stableford scores had Ian McLachlan from Guide Dogs for the Blind on top, Mark Pexton from Edinburgh second and Graham Fenton of Fife Constabulary third.

Winners of the Charities Challenge Cup for 2012 were Fife Constabulary who scored 135 combined points and were represented by Alex Duncan, Andy Girdwood, Graham Fenton and Davey Moffat

The SDGP would like to thank its sponsors and supporters for helping to organise and operate the three-day event.
