FIFE Flyers fans can look forward to a double dose of ice hockey this weekend.

Back-to-back home games start with a Challenge Cup clash against Dundee Stars on Saturday, followed by a league game against Coventry Blaze on Sunday.

Flyers have made an impressive start to the season, winning five of their opening six games, but player-coach Todd Dutiaume (pictured) is keeping his feet on the ground.

“We’re not sitting here on cloud nine saying we’re the best team around,” he said.

“We know we’ve got lots of work to do and a long way to go.

“Teams won’t be looking at us a night off anymore but that’s what we want.

“We will lose hockey games, but hopefully it will be a heck of a lot less than last year.

“The start we’ve made has done a lot for the confidence of this ice hockey club – and for the fans, it’s a really exciting start to the season.

“We’ve put ourselves in a decent position in the Challenge Cup, and we’ve got some league points on the board.

“We just have to keep going. A team that believes in itself is half the battle.”
