FIFE Flyers aim to go giant killing this weekend in what is set to be their biggest game of the season.

With fans set to ‘pack the barn’ Flyers will face off against the Elite League champions and current table toppers Belfast Giants at a jam-packed Fife Ice Arena on Saturday.

It seems certain Flyers will be playing to their biggest crowd of the season after a major promotional push by the club.

And Danny Stewart, assistant coach, said he was excited at the prospect.

“There’s a buzz out there,” he said. “With all these extra fans turning up with the ‘Pack The Barn’ campaign it’s up to us to do our job and put on a performance on the ice.

“Belfast are a great side. They’re well structured and play a solid game but we’ll be ready and take it like any other game.”

And Danny is confident that the team’s home performances will make them a match for the champions.

He said: “Our home form has been fantastic and coming out to see two or three thousand fans in the rink will give the players an extra boost for sure!”

Defenceman Zach Carriveau added: “Even when this rink isn’t full it’s fun and loud so I can’t even imagine what it would be like with a packed house!

“The Giants are one of the best teams I’ve played against but we can get them. Definitely.

“Let’s pack the barn!”
