A BUCKHAVEN-based rugby starlet is set to continue his potential progress into the senior ranks at a private school.
Josh Laird, who has recently turned 16, has already represented Scotland U16s and played for Kirkcaldy Rugby Club and his school team, Buckhaven Sharks.
As the schools prepared to return from their summer break, Josh received confirmation that he’d been accepted for a scholarship at a private school in Bridge of Allan, which has a reputation as offering its students the best in rugby coaching.
When he was selected to represent Scotland last year, Josh had to go through a series of trial matches – making the cut after every stage.
Eventually, he was selected as part of the Scotland squad of 26 which performed at an U16 tournament in England.
Josh told the Mail he hoped eventually to win a professional contract but was keen to keep developing first.
