Kinross Otter Ola takes her first national level medal

The Scottish Schools National Swimming Finals for 2015 took place at the new Aberdeen Sports Village.

Ola Stanton from Kinross Otters, representing Kinross High School, was on sizzling form in the girls 12-year-old 50m breaststroke.

She qualified for the final with ease in 37.92 seconds.

The final turned out to be a two horse race and Ola pulled out all the stops and as the two touched seemingly simultaneously.

Ola had won her first national level medal, a silver, in a personal best of 37.19 seconds, just eight hundredths of a second from the winner.

She had also taken 2.6 seconds off the old Otters record and is now the third quickest Scottish and seventh quickest British girl in this event.

The only other Otter to make the blocks was Jack Muncey representing Kinross Primary.

He qualified for the finals in his second best stroke of butterfly and set a new personal best of 39.03 seconds.
