Ceres motorcycle racer set for TT return

A CERES motorcycle racer will once again be thrilling the crowds at this summer’s Isle of Man TT.

Dod Spence is a regular competitor on the island and has put his name down for all seven solo races this year.

He will be contesting the Superbike, Superstock and Senior races on the 2011 Aprilia RSV4, and the two Supersport races on a Yamaha R6.

Dod will once again be entering the ‘green’ ZeroTT race for eco-friendly electric bikes.

Last year he finished third, scooping the university prize for his team, Kingston University, where students built the zero-emissions bike from scratch.

The Isle of Man Government has offered a £10,000 prize for the first electric bike to average 100mph round the famous 38-mile mountain circuit.

This year Dod also hopes to ride in the Lightweight TT for the new Supertwins class.

Dod is seeking sponsorship for the TT races, which run from May 26 to June 8.

He can be contacted at dodspence@aol.com or on 07974 673337.
