Ali Smith and Phil Hammond

Ali Smith and Phil Hammond

PITTENWEEM Tennis Club relaunched the courts after complete resurfacing spraying and relining.

At the official re-opening, speeches made by president, Claire Kerr and Dr Alistair Kennedy, the honorary president, welcomed all the former and current members of the club to the event.

Over £38,500 was raised for the project and a presentation of flowers and a new junior trophy in her name was made to Liz Rogers for her work in realising the project.

Dr Kennedy opened the courts and a busy afternoon using the new equipment and testing the new surface ended with the conclusion of a senior mixed doubles tournament for the new 90th Anniversary Shield.

Ali Smith and Phil Hammond were worthy winners.

The Red Ball tournament for 7-11 years was also keenly fought and was won by Laura Johnston.
