GLENCOE Marathon is billed as the toughest marathon in Britain and it proved a real challenge for Anster Haddies runners.

The weather could not have been better and the bright autumn sunshine allowed the runners to enjoy the spectacular surroundings.

Debz Hay ran despite a niggling hamstring injury and finished in 6:13.

George Hay finished in 7:15 in spite of a knee injury.

Christine Bowie took part in the Edinburgh Kilomathon and finished in 1:05:13.

Dell Rae and Susan Bonellie were in Edinburgh for the 10K.

Dell finished in 34:51 and Susan in 56:27.

The Waid Sports Centre is closed this week due to the school holidays.

Training will be an away day to St Andrews.

Meet at East Sands Leisure Centre at 6.30pm prompt.

Runners are asked to wear high visibility clothing now that the dark nights have arrived.
