THERE was a large field of Anster Haddies at the Newburgh race last Wednesday night despite the wet weather.

Ailsa Cruickshanks was first junior girl finishing in 33:12. Her mum, Pamela was first female over-45 finishing in 33:29. It was a good night for the Haddie ladies as Jacqui MacDonald was first female over-40 with a time of 36:10 and Hazel Bradley was first female over-60 with a time of 34:27. There were successes too for Ronan McKinstrey (third junior boy), Tich Shaw (third male over-50), Debz Hay (second female over-40) and Fiona Cruickshanks (third female junior).

Ronan McKinstrey was second overall in Saturday’s St Andrews Park run with a time of 19:33 and Alice Hall heads ever nearer her 50 races target completing the Killarney 10K in 49:45.

A number of Haddies also took part in the recent Sandy Slither. The top result scorers were Dell Rae, who was third male senior, Debz Hay - first female veteran over-40, Alice Hall - first female veteran over-45 and Ronan McKinstrey had a great run finishing first male junior. Ailsa Cruickshanks won the junior female race.

Carole Fraser was in action in the Brig Bash five miles and finished in a time of 51:55.
