Impressive standards of tennis

PITTENWEEM Tennis Club played host to six local clubs on Saturday, with 10 teams of 7-11 year olds contesting a mini tennis trophy as part of a monthly cup event.

The winners were the four players from Elie, who did well to overcome close runners-up Anstruther 1.

There was some fine tennis played all morning and all teams were thanked for their efforts and participation.

Organisers said it was great to see over 40 children on the courts, supported by their parents and helpers from Pittenweem Tennis Club who kept the score.

The next event in the series will be held at Duffus Tennis Club in November.

Pittenweem Tennis Club now sets its thinking caps on with a quiz night this Saturday, to which all over-18s are welcome.

The evening starts at 7pm, with the doors and bar open by kind permission of the Bowling Club. Quizzing starts at 7.30pm, with entry charges.
