WITHIN three months of joining the Leven JogScotland Group, five members have successfully completed their first ever 10k race.

Pictured, from left to right, Jeff Taylor, Debbie McCallion, Gail Stewart, Ruth Cruickshank and Julie Gillespie all took part in the recent East Neuk 10K, organised by local running club the Anster Haddies.

Run on farm tracks and minor roads, it presented no problems for the five, who completed the course in well under their predicted times, despite having only started attending training sessions at the end of June.

It was, in fact, the Anster Haddies who started the Leven JogScotland group, along with two others in Anstruther.

The Leven group, which is for beginners and intermediates meets on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm at the Levenmouth Leisure Centre.

The Anstruther groups meet at Waid Sports Centre on Tuesdays (beginners and intermediates) and Wednesdays (advanced), also 6.30pm.

For more information about joining any of these groups email jogleven@gmail.com.
