editorial image

FIFE lost for the first time in this season’s Scottish Seniors East Section matches, when they travelled to Kelty to oppose West Fife and finished 31 shots behind.

Fife had no winners but, to his credit, Mike Rollo did emerge with a draw against Jim Crawford, with Kenny Balfour not too far behind.

Six shots down playing the last end against Ron Downie, his four reduced its deficit to three shots with a last-end three.

Bob Dick went down by 11 shots against Tom Hutchison, while Roy White fell victim to an impressive display by Hugh Kerr’s team, ending his day 17 shots behind.

Prior to the Top Ten Final at Strathmiglo – won by the home side – three singles contests were decided.

In the Under 22 final, Christopher Stein (Kennoway) was ahead but surrendered an 18-14 lead, allowing Andrew Thomson (Markinch) to gain a 21-18 victory.
