Kirkcaldy YM have moved quickly to replace out-going manager Colin Downie.
Downie’s resignation was accepted by the Denfield Park board over the weekend and his post will be taken up by the club’s current goalkeeping coach, and long serving player, Roy Ness.
Ness has served the club for over 10 years and his appointment takes place with immediate effect.
YM, whose season is now finished, can still be relegated from the McBookie.com East Premier League if Montrose Roselea are able to win their remaining league games and over-turn the points deficit.
One club still in action as the season nears its conclusion is Thornton Hibs who went down 4-2 to Forfar West End Forfar West End.
In the ninth minute Mark Pirie blasted the ball off Willie Clark from close range.
The Hibs’ defender had his hands by his side and clearly there was no intent but the ref decided, without hesitation, that an offence had been committed.
Forfar weren’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth and Darren Scott duly converted from the spot.
West End extended their lead in the 15th minute when Scott turned provider for Matthew Reynolds to beat Mark Rowbotham.
Daniel McNab pulled one back for the Hibs shortly before half-time but another two goals from Scott in the 51st and 52nd minutes all but killed the game.
Stevie Leslie netted with a great free-kick in the 62nd minute to complete the scoring and then with thirteen minutes remaining, Kris Maxwell was sent-off.
On Friday night Thornton travel to Coupar Angus.
