Away victory takes Scotia up the table

Balgonie Scotia moved up a couple of rungs in the Glendale Plastics League ladder at the weekend following a good 2-1 away win over Kettle United at Rumdewan,

The win moved the Coaltown side up to mid-table and look to be heading for their best-ever Kingdom League finish.

Following their first win of the season the week before Star Hearts were hoping to make it two in a row, but disappointingly went down rather tamely 3-0 against Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts at the Ballast Bank.

Both sides are on league duty again this week, Hearts host Lumphinnans United with Scotia heading to Duffus Park to take on second placed Cupar Hearts.

In the Fife AFA Lomond Vics and Lomond United had contrasting fortunes in their respective third round League Cup ties.

United were 6-3 victors over Queensferry Albert, while Vics made their exit losing out 2-1 to Buckhaven Town.

Glenrothes Amateurs had to settle for a share of the points in a Division Two 3-3 draw with Carnegie Thistle.

Likewise Glenrothes Strollers and Balgonie Scotia who played out a 2-2 draw at Over Stenton.

Leslie Hearts went down 0-2 at Quarry Park against Dundonald.

All the local Fife AFA sides are on league duty this week, In the Premier Division, Lomond Vics will be on the road for a meeting with Comrie Tavern.

In Division Two, Glenrothes Strollers and Glenrothes Amateurs have home advantage for the visits of Freuchie and Dundonald respectively.

Balgonie Scotia visit Carnegie Thistle with Leslie Hearts in the Lang Toun to take on Kirkcaldy Rovers.
