LEVENMOUTH bowlers enjoyed success in the 2012 Wemyss and District finals at Thornton BC.

The hosts’ Jimmy Forbes skipped the pairs against Methil’s Alan Hill. Thornton held a narrow advantage after eight ends, but were to lose three threes to Methil, who won 17-12.

The senior pairs was a case of third time lucky for Kennoway’s Nigel Gordon Snr as he had been beaten in the two previous finals. Kennoway overcame a determined effort from Willie Cowan of Markinch to win 16-14.

Another of last year’s winners was out to recapture victory when Windygates’ rink of Gordon Winn faced 2011 opponents, Willie Close from Kennoway. It was to finish in a double triumph for Windygates with a 19-10 success to make it two in a row.

In the Victoria Cup game, Bruce McCall collected Methil’s second win of the day with a narrow 14-12 victory over Rab Page from Methilhill.
