After a season of trials and tribulations, Kirkcaldy racer Rory Butcher finally enjoyed a perfect weekend with two Porsche Carrera Cup wins at Rockingham.
The Celtic Speed driver qualified third on the grid for both races but some fantastic overtaking secured his maiden 2013 victory in race one, before he followed it up with another sensational drive in a rain-affected race two.
A delighted Butcher said: “We’ve known we had the ability to dominate a meeting like this, we just have not had the breaks this year.
“The team worked extremely hard to improve the car over the weekend and I was able to maximise the performance.
“It was satisfying to know that we grafted for each win and used the knowledge and experience we have built up, making the most of opportunities as they arrived.
“It was certainly exciting, with plenty of drama – but I was just delighted to have got the wins for me and the Celtic Speed team.
“The lads were jumping up and down on top of the pit wall as I crossed the finish line - what a feeling!”
Rory’s double saw him move up two places to third in the championship table ahead of the penultimate round of the season at Silverstone in two weeks time.
“It was a big relief as I really wanted a win before the end of the year, but to get two in one weekend is pretty special,” he said.
“It showed what we are really capable of doing and gives us a huge boost going into the final two rounds.
“We are third overall and have a good cushion over Daniel Lloyd in fourth, I can’t ask for more.”
